Ethiopia enters 2028 AFCON hosting race after 50-year wait

Ethiopia has formally entered the race to host the 2028 Africa Cup of Nations, seeking to stage the continent’s biggest football tournament for the first time in more than 50 years.

The Ethiopian Football Federation confirmed the bid in a post on X on Monday, declaring the country ready to host the tournament. Ethiopia last hosted the AFCON in 1976.
